Ayre Clay Target Club Report

Fri, 13 Jun 2014

Ayre Clay Target Club hosted two days of Double Trap shooting at Blue Point at the weekend.

Saturday’s shoot, sponsored by Top Spec Fencing was a 60 target league shoot, run concurrently with a 90 target selection shoot.

Jake Keeling won both, Kevin Oates was second and Harvey Wood was third.

Sunday’s competition was the 60 target league shoot with the 90 target Manx Championship shot at the same time.  As the day before, the league competition was won by Jake Keeling, just two clays ahead of Kevin Oates in second with Harvey Wood five behind for third.

The Laxey Glen Mills sponsored Manx Championship order after three rounds was Keeling, Oates, Wood and Dave Corlett.  Wood won the bronze medal shoot off from Corlett by four clays.  Keeling survived the pressure from Oates to take gold with a 25 to Oates’ 21 for the silver medal.

This weekend is a work party on Saturday from 12.30pm.  Please try to attend and help with the setting up of the 100 target Trafalgar Hotel English Sporting Selection shoot on the Sunday even if you don’t intend to shoot the competition.  The club can only continue to provide shooting if all the members are prepared to put the work in.

The entries for Sunday close at 10.15am prompt.
