Efforts to stop people 'tombstoning' are not a move to stop people from having fun.
The coastguard is urging people - particularly youngsters - to be aware of the dangers of jumping into or swimming in harbour areas.
Signage has now been put up around the pier areas to warn people against doing it.
Although there has been no serious accidents on the Island there have been several in the UK, in some cases people have died.
Operations officer Michael Macdonald says it simply isn't worth the risk:
