Dog attack in plantation sparks control reminder

Fri, 23 May 2014

Dog owners are being reminded of the hefty financial penalties of not keeping their animals under control.

It follows an incident in the Millenium Oakwood plantation at around 5pm last night - where a dog was attacked by two others causing injuries to the animal and its owner.

Both dog owners were present and struggled considerably for some time trying to separate the canines - police say anyone in the area would have been aware of the commotion.

The male owner of the dogs left the scene without leaving his details and officers would now like to speak to him.

Under the Dogs Act 1990 anyone who doesn't keep their animal properly under control could be liable for a fine of up to £2,500.
