A King William’s College student who died on Monday following a car crash has helped save the lives of a number of other people.

17-year-old Dosch MacLeod was on the organ donation register - a decision that’s helped at least five people, with the potential to help more.

His family have confirmed that one person will receive his heart, two people will receive a kidney each and two people will each receive half of his liver.

Sharing the news on Facebook Dosch’s brother says the decision is evidence of his ‘kind and giving nature’ and in keeping with the fact he wanted to become a trauma surgeon and help save lives.

The family are now willing people on the Island to sign up to become organ donors themselves.
