Crash highlights importance of seatbelts

Police say a serious crash yesterday is another example of why people should ensure they wear their seatbelts.

Officers tweeted a picture of a BMW X5 which was involved in a collision north of the Devil's Elbow on the Peel to Kirk Michael coast road.

Emergency services were called to the incident at around 2.30pm where they found the vehicle on its roof.

The male driver was trapped inside and had to be cut free - he was then transferred to Noble's Hospital.

His condition at this time is not known.
