A post-mortem examination is being carried out on a tram horse which died whilst on duty yesterday.
17-year-old Albert who was apparently 'fit and healthy' had a stroke near to the stables on Queen's Promenade.
Douglas Council says all of the horses are checked regularly and this is the only horse it is aware of which has died whilst pulling a tram.
The horse tram service is operating again as normal.
The incident has sparked a debate on social media with some people suggesting the service should be stopped.
