Douglas experiences heavy overnight flooding

Heavy flooding overnight in Douglas has the Department of Infrastructure and the Fire Service busy today.

At around 4am manhole covers were blown off and many of the roads and footpaths became impassable.

This caused problems on Peel Road and Ballanard Road, on Broadway and the promenade area, the bottom of Crellin’s Hill and Poplar Terrace.

No problems have been reported elsewhere.
