The Silver Line looks to host socials for older people

The Silver Line could be launching a regular meet for older people in the Isle of Man.

Chairman of the charity in the Island, Doug Stewart, told us if he can’t find an appropriate venue for 'The Silver Circle', he’s willing to hold it in his own home.

Manx residents are known to be calling the befriending service more often than in the UK.

Mr Stewart says founder Esther Rantzen and chief executive Sophie Andrews came up with the idea, which could help many overcome loneliness:
