Fire crews spent over seven hours dealing with a major fire in a workshop at Eairy on Saturday.
An out of control bonfire sparked the blaze just after 3pm on the Stoney Mountain Road.
The fire quickly spread to nearby workshops and surrounding trees – and involved a number of gas cylinders.
Firefighters evacuated a 200 metre wide area due to the cylinders which when heated can explode without warning.
They were hampered by a lack of water in the area – crews had to ferry water from half a mile away.
The situation was brought under control just after 10pm – there were no reports of any injuries.
