Autistic children and their families are set to benefit from a new partnership.
Autism in Mann has joined forces with the Department of Education and Children to help improve the outcomes for children affected by the condition.
Currently around 1.1 per cent of the school population have autistic spectrum conditions.
The main aspect of the initiative is the introduction of specialist teacher of autism, Carole Williams.
She'll focus on supporting secondary school age children, spending time with them at school and, where appropriate at home, she will also deliver training to teaching staff and provide drop-in workshops for parents.
