Flybe patient transfer service to continue

Patients will continue to be flown to Liverpool for hospital treatment following the confirmation that Flybe will continue to operate the service.

There had been uncertainty about the airline continuing its contract with the Department of Health following the decision to close the base here.

The early morning and evening routes are essential for patients who can't receive treatment on the Island.

However there had been issues with Flybe keeping staff and aircraft on the Island overnight - the airline has now agreed to this.
