An MHK says he has heartfelt support for the Landlord and Tenant Bill after visiting a constituent suffering problems with an absentee landlord.
David Cretney says the living conditions of this tenant were desperate - fuelled by the uncommunicative owner of the property not living in the Island.
Legislation put forward by the Department of Social Care is looking to find a reasonable balance between the rights of landlords and those of private tenants.
The Private Landlords Association will meet next week in Douglas to discuss changes to the Bill after members of the HoK made their amendments.
