Does the Chief Minister only legislate when a problem arises?
That was the question put forward by Douglas East MHK Brenda Cannell in the House of Keys yesterday.
It was in relation to Allan Bell's announcement that there are no plans, and no need, to introduce legislation against arranged and forced marriages.
Mrs Cannell and Ramsey MHK Leonard Singer counter argued that its introduction would be better before it potentially became an issue.
However Mr Bell says it’s simply not one of government’s priorities:
