Police officers who work to protect children, families and victims of crime have been honoured by the Association of Chief Police Officers.
The Island’s public protection unit has been recognised at a national conference for officers trained in sexual offence investigative techniques.
The awards judge forces from the north and south of England who excel in this field of expertise with the Isle of Man coming out on top in the north.
Detective Inspector Stephen Maddocks says it is a huge achievement for his officers who deal with difficult, complex and often upsetting investigations.
