The Chief Minister says he does understand why the public feel they are paying for past mistakes within the Manx Electricity Authority.
Earlier this week it was announced that electricity prices are to rise by 3 per cent from April 1st.
That represents an average increase of around £21 per year.
However Mr Bell says perspective is needed as it’s the first increase in three years and is in line with inflation.
He says government is working hard to find a solution to the authority’s debt problem:
