Almost £1 million has been saved thanks to a reduction in the time that government employees spend being off sick.
Figures show that staff sickness rates across the departments have dropped by 12 per cent.
Between April and December people had just over four days off each – that’s fallen from just over five in the previous year.
66 per cent of employees had no absence during that period.
