Concerns over the short-term provision of care for stray and abandoned dogs have been raised by the MSPCA.
The animal charity has met with the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture to discuss its decision to axe the Island’s dog warden.
From March 31st, the role will be taken over by officers working within the pest control unit in an effort to save money.
The MSPCA says it believes it can help provide the service in the long- term – but Margaret Mansfield from the charity says there are short-term concerns:
