Too much money is being spent on providing legal aid for court cases on the Isle of Man.
The Treasury Minister says it’s writing ‘blank cheques’ and is concerned about the sustained high cost of legal activity.
Eddie Teare says a budget can’t be set because it’s impossible to predict future court cases.
His comments come as final figures are expected shortly for a high profile election fraud case which has already cost taxpayers over £1 million.
