Debate and discussion on the future of waste management is welcome, according to the Department of Infrastructure.
It’s come under fire from Douglas Council for not being ‘transparent’ over a consultation which is looking at alternative ways of delivering the service.
The Council says the department needs to give more power to local authorities and has accused the department of not consulting properly with stakeholders.
However the department says it has no fixed view on how to proceed yet and all options are still being considered.
