Cup Quarter Finals
C&S Blue v SMP Ballasalla Blue
This will be the third time these teams have met this season and currently it's a game apiece! Both teams have been looking strong despite some injuries and absences so this could be a game of wills. Shooters for both teams have shown some great form, but Ballasalla have conceded over 100 more goals than the higher ranked C&S. As long as they haven't lost too many of their team to the half term holidays C&S should be going through to the next round of the cup.Missfits A v Route 1 ConnectionsRoute 1 have won the previous two encounters this season and I see no reason why they shouldn't win this time! Their defence really is phenomenal and they are so quick at then converting rebounds and interceptions to goals. Paige Skillicorn will be one to watch after securing POTM last week and she should help her team secure a place in the semi - finals.Thompson A v SMP Ballasalla ABallasalla have dominated Thompson in their league fixtures, scoring over twice the number of goals in their fixtures. Lynn Ilott and Ashley Hall as the respective Centres will be key to this game as they cover the court so well. Expect Thompson to put up a good fight but this will be Ballasalla's game.C&S Red v PWC RubiesC&S will be gunning to retain their cup title as well as their league title and this match should definitely see them secure their place in the semi final. With the best will from Rubies, they will be out played by C&S who scored four times the number of goals when they met earlier in the season. C&S to win.Vase Semi FinalsManx Glass Saints v C&S GreenDespite being in two different divisions this should be a great game, the young C&S team will be eager to earn themselves a place in the final of the vase. Saints have had mixed fortunes in the league and currently sit in the middle of the table and C&S are near the top end of their league. These teams have scored a similar amount but C&S have conceded less, even with this fact it should be Manx Glass Saints who secure a place in the final.Anglo Manx Electrical v Absolute ScaffoldingAbsolute Scaffolding have beaten Anglo Manx twice already this season and this should be the third time. Although Scaffolding have been suffering with injuries of late they are a tight unit and they have a way of breaking down the flow of play. Their last meeting was a closer encounter but Scaffolding should be able to do enough to see themselves through to the final.Plate Semi FinalsPWC Emeralds v Thompson DThompson are sitting at the bottom of the second division table and Emeralds are in the middle of the first division, so this could be a one sided game. The Thompson girls are young but they are quick and their defence is great, Ella Clague brings urgency and skill to their shooting circle. Emeralds have some great mid court play and their shooter are experienced and accurate. Could be an interesting game but one that Emeralds will win.C&S Yellow v Fencibles AC&S put in a great performance last week despite only fielding five players, Anna Munro as their goal attack particularly stood out. They will need to play the game of their life to go up against Fencibles who are sitting in 2nd place in the first division. Fencibles are so quick on the ball and player like Sosie Cox pick up intercepts and loose balls all over the court and their shooters are easily able to convert these to goals. Fencibles A to win!Division 2Marbree Motors v Missfits B (League Match)The girls from Marbree Motors have scored twice as many goals as Missfits and they have conceded the least amount of goals of any team in any division. Missfits have had mixed fortunes but the young team have had some great play along the way and they do seem to be improving as the season progresses. No doubt that Motors will win this match but expect a closer match than their previous meeting
