Minister says dog warden service cuts aren't impending

No final decisions have been made over axing the current service the Island’s dog warden provides.

That’s according to the Environment, Food and Agriculture Minister - who says he is eager to find a solution to the issue.

The MSPCA has raised concerns after it revealed that, from March 31st, the service will be transferred to the department’s pest control officers instead.

The charity says it has concerns about where the animals would be kept and how they would be returned to their owners.

Phil Gawne says a meeting between the parties has been arranged and discussions on the matter should wait until then:
