MHK says the Island needs a national health debate

The Isle of Man needs to have a national debate on how to provide health services going forward.

That’s the view of Middle MHK Howard Quayle, who says government is not collecting enough money from taxes to continue with the current level of service.

From April, the Department of Health and Social Care will have a budget of just over £184 million.

Later this year, Tynwald will be asked to approve further spending on a new IT system for Noble’s Hospital so that benchmarking can be introduced.

Mr Quayle says this is long overdue as much needed money has already been wasted:
