The Department of Health has extended the age group for those eligible for free bowel screening.
The scheme now covers those people up to the age of 75 whereas previously it stopped at 69.
The first two-year cycle of the screening managed to identify 15 cases of cancer, with an uptake rate of 59 per cent.
Bowel cancer is the third most common cancer in the UK and the Isle of Man after lung and breast cancer, and the second most common cause of death after lung cancer.
