Braddan Commissioners say a recent court case judgement over the former clerk Charles ‘Buster’ Lewin is good news for ratepayers.
Mr Lewin had attempted to claim costs of over £1 million because of what he'd branded his 'wrongful dismissal' in 2007.
The case has cost the commissioners over £300,000 - it's currently being deliberated as to whether to continue proceedings to have that money recouped from Mr Lewin who is in prison.
Chairman Andrew Jessop says had Mr Lewin won the case the ratepayers would have been liable for the pay out:
