An MHK is set to make waves during Tuesday’s House of Keys sitting as he attempts to bring in a bill to abolish the Legislative Council.
Rushen MHK Phil Gawne will be arguing that the council should not be immune to cutbacks and will ask the question if it is time it was dissolved.
He says he feels 'LegCo' fulfills a valuable role, but without the MLCs government could still continue to operate and thrive.
Mr Gawne, who is also the Environment, Food and Agriculture Minister, says he thinks it will be a contentious topic that will polarise opinion:
