The Department of Infrastructure is relying on quick fix solutions in the short term to deal with the major damage left by yesterday's storm surge.
A number of sea wall sections were demolished by the waves in Castletown, Douglas and Ramsey.
The damage has left a huge crater in the Ramsey Promenade walkway which it is feared could undermine the road.
Over 200 tones of rock armour has been poured into the hole until a more permanent solution can be found.
