Operators of a nuclear reprocessing plant in Cumbria - which is directly across from the Isle of Man - say a monitor has detected increased levels of radiation in part of the site.
Sellafield’s levels of radioactivity have been found to be above naturally occurring radiation.
Non-essential staff have been told to stay at home, but there’s no call for action to be taken by its workforce on or off the site.
The plant is at normal status and operational plants and other outstations are continuing to operate as investigations continue.
There’s no risk to the public or employees.
