There are no plans to introduce new legislation stopping ex-government employees from taking up company directorships.
That’s according to the Chief Minister - who says he understands concerns, but feels legislating against it isn’t necessary.
The issue has been raised by Onchan MHK Peter Karran - asking to what extent former politicians and senior civil servants could benefit from knowledge acquired inside government.
Allan Bell explained that it would be unacceptable for confidential knowledge to be used to the detriment of government.
