Island's Lloyds Bank to let 16 staff go

16 jobs are to go at Lloyds Bank in the Isle of Man.

The bank says the decision – which is believed to affect internal and not frontline staff – has not been made lightly.

Reductions are part of an overall organisational change after Lloyds announced in 2011 it would shed 15,000 roles.

A spokesperson for the banking group says the changes have been carried out to put the bank on track for future growth – not to limit the geographic footprint.
