Sky TV to offer 'goodwill gestures' after VAT error

Sky TV says it will offer goodwill gestures to Manx customers who were mistakenly told that they are entitled to discounts on their bills,

Earlier this month there was confusion when subscribers began reporting that they were getting VAT waived.

It seems Sky's customer service team wrongly thought the Isle of Man has the same VAT status as the Channel Islands.

The company is now writing to everyone who was given the wrong information.

Sky TV says the customer service team is being given further training to make sure it doesn't happen again.

It's not yet known what goodwill gesture is being offered.
