The number of major incidents in the last year proves how vital the Island’s emergency services are.
That’s according to the Home Affairs Minister who has praised all those involved with responding to the recent severe weather.
Police, the Fire Service and the Civil Defence were at the forefront of efforts to deal with tidal flooding last Friday and on Monday.
It comes after a busy 2013 with the heavy snowfall, major fire at Mount Murray and serious road traffic collision involving a bus.
