As the Department of Infrastructure’s work teams clean up the debris left by yesterday’s floods the Met Office has confirmed there is a flood risk in place for tomorrow also.
In the worst hit areas there was two foot of standing water which left behind debris and in some cases serious damage to homes and retail outlets.
Ramsey and Castletown were considered the worst hit, with the demand for sandbags leading to many properties having to do without.
The majority of the closed roads have been reopened, Laxey promenade is due to remain shut until Monday afternoon.
In preparation for tomorrow's flooding the water and sewerage authority has asked people not to discard their used sandbags just yet.
