A new act to protect young people using sunbeds came into force yesterday (January 1st).
The Sunbeds Act 2013 has been introduced by the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture.
It’s designed to prevent people under the age of 18 from using the equipment on commercial business premises.
Government says the legislation will help protect people from the dangers of skin cancer.
The new bill means the Isle of Man is now in line with other neighbouring jurisdictions which have had similar legislation in place for some time.
