The Old Breakwater in Port Erin has been closed to the public following damage caused by recent storms.
The storm damage resulted in a large cavity the size of a small car forming in the root of the breatwater with part of the stone wall being destroyed and washed away.
Decking has been erected to stabilise the structure although it is still consisered dangerously unstable.
It's now fenced off and the public are reminded to heed the warning signs and not enter the closed area.
DOI Engineers are investigating the damage, however, it is unclear at present how long the breakwater will remain closed.
