Those receiving child benefit will need to reapply

People who receive child benefit will have to start reapplying for it.

From April the 7th next year the benefit will become means tested.

It means all existing claims will automatically end on April 6th.

Under the Department of Social Care's reforms personal and financial details of both the claimant and their partner are required.

Application forms are being sent out alphabetically in four batches - anyone who's entitled to claim needs to do so before February.
