Major job losses as Flybe pull aircraft from Island base

Fri, 15 Nov 2013

Flybe has confirmed that majority of its on-Island staff are to be made redundant.

As a cost saving measure, the airline confirmed they would no longer have a requirement to base aircraft in the Isle of Man.

This will come into effect from 31st March.

As a consequence, 49 of its 51 local employees will lose their jobs through redundancy.

Flybe has confirmed that Isle of Man passengers can still book with confidence.

There will now be consultations held with affected employees - more details will be given once these procedures have been followed through.
