DSC Minister told to better tackle fuel poverty

The Social Care Minister has come under fire for not doing enough to measure household income.

South Douglas MHK Kate Beecroft has raised concerns that Chris Robertshaw’s department doesn’t have a proper understanding of the income and how it’s related to fuel costs.

She says after asking a similar question 20 months ago, she’s still waiting to see some progress.

With the cold weather setting in, Mrs Beecroft says she believes the department should be using tools to measure fuel poverty, similar to the UK system.
