Ayre Clay Target Club hosted two competitions in dry but blustery conditions on Sunday.
The 125 Olympic Skeet league shoot was won by Jeff Corkill with 45/50. Joint second were Dave Clague and Glenn Catlin, one point behind on 44. Clague also won the league overall, after a tense shoot off with Nigel Kelly. Catlin was third with James Bradley in fourth place.
The 125 competition, run at the same time was won by Clague with a score of 111. Bradley was second on 109 with Corkill and Dan Shacklock joint third on 108.
The club also held an Olympic Trap competition on Sunday. David Walton won the league shoot with a score of 46/50. Phil Ward and Harvey Wood were joint second on 35. This gave Walton the league win from Ward in second. Wood was third with Robert Watterson in fourth.
Walton went on to win the Adam Slater memorial trophy with a Commonwealth consideration score of 118 ex 125. Harvey Wood was second and Robert Watterson was third. Walton thanked Bushy’s for their continued support.
This week at Blue Point is the annual FITASC Sporting Manx Championship; entries close at 10.15am. There will be a work party on Saturday from 2pm to set up the shoot. All members are asked to help if possible.
