The Education and Children Minister has described plans to change school meals in the UK as being made 'on a whim'.
Last week Nick Clegg revealed proposals to offer free meals to all children up to the age of seven.
However the Island's Department of Education and Children has ruled out following suit saying rolling that out here could cost £700,000 - the equivalent of 25 teaching posts.
