After eighteen weeks of competition, the eventual winner of the Empire Garage Tynwald Shield Handicap is Richard Arthur by an incredible average of .2 of a point! This competition is a best 12 from 18 rounds and during the summer months no less than 25 members have shot in at least one match with seventeen shooting at least the 12 rounds required. I will not list all the individual weekly scores but will list the aggregate score followed by the average score of the 12 counted matches for each shooter. 1 – Arthur aggregate score 7278 giving an average score of 606.5, 2 – Perryn Callister 7275, 606.3, 3 – Suzanne McKnight 7262, 605.2, 4 – Nick Brown 7258, 604.8, 5 – Mike Clague 7258, 604.8, 6 – Andy Potter 7251, 604.3, 7 – Tom Lord 7248, 604.0, 8 – Ben Kelly 7247, 603.9, 9 – Tony Kneale 7246, 603.8, 10 – Andy Traynor 7237, 603.1, 11 – Ashley Gardner 7236, 603.0, 12 – Steve Callus 7235, 602.9, 13 – David Bould 7227, 602.3, 14 – Mike Duncalf 7220, 601.7, 15 – John Wood 7216, 601.3, 16 – Harry Creevy 7207, 600.6, 17 – Bill Jones 7193, 599.4. The following shot fewer than the required 12 rounds 18 – Illiam Christian 6635, 19 – Ashley Gardner (Jnr) 5450, 20 – Paul Smethurst 4818, 21, Gemma Kermode 4791, 22 – Alex Trafford 3524, 23 – Martin Burns 2992, 24 – Jackie Gardner 1760, 25 – Lara Ward 1211. It must be noted that just one shooter averaged less than his average score over the season but even then, just 0.6 would have made the difference.
With local weekly competitions at Sinclair now complete for the season, club members have been busy ensuring a successful and trouble free weekend of high class International shooting which will be held over the period September 19th – 22nd when the CSF(ED) will have been completed. I must apologise for giving the location of Airgun events in this event as The Onchan Community Centre, when in fact the matches were shot at the NSC.
