The Isle of Man Health and Care Association says it has concerns that training is not as robust as it could be at Noble’s Hospital.
It follows the publication of the Department of Health’s action plan for improving colorectal surgery following its suspension at the end of last year.
The action plan was originally being kept out of the public domain however the department has now released it after heavy criticism from the Liberal Vannin Party.
The association says it's content that action is now being taken but is however concerned that the need for some additional training by certain people was not identified sooner.
It adds that if the department adopted a more open and transparent attitude in regards to the operation of the hospital it feels confidence in the service would improve.
