Fire crews from Castletown were called in to action after a fire broke out at Ronaldsway Aircraft Company yesterday afternoon.
The alarm was raised at 1.15pm after a titanium filter bench caught fire and filled the site with thick smoke.
A member of the onsite maintenance team had extinguished the blaze by using powder extinguishers before evacuating the building.
Emergency services were forced to use positive ventilation and two heavy-duty industrial fans to clear the smoke and secure the site.
The station officer said he was impressed with the evacuation procedures at the company and thanked the onsite team for their assistance.
