Motorists are being urged to make sure their vehicle tyres are fit for the road.
A recent routine check of vehicles parked along Douglas promenade found 15 had illegal tyres, which posed a danger.
The owners had their details taken and were asked to present their cars for further inspection within seven days.
If they fail to do so it will become a matter for the police.
These checks will continue around the Island with hefty fines in place for offenders.
