Police say there could be serious legal ramifications for people who are using social networking sites to name people allegedly involved in an ongoing case.
Yesterday police confirmed they were investigating ‘unconfirmed’ reports that children had been approached by the occupants of a blue car in the Spring Valley and Pulrose areas.
This led to hundreds of people taking to Facebook overnight to name the individuals allegedly involved, posting photographs and revealing their personal information.
Police say they want to make it clear that there’s no evidence that any of the people who are being named have committed any offences.
