Manx Gas says it can’t continue to absorb rising costs.
It was announced yesterday that gas prices are going to rise later this month by 3.5 per cent.
That means the average natural gas customer will see their bills increase by £25 a year.
The company says its expected costs for the rest of the year are higher than it forecast when tariffs were last reviewed in 2012.
