Racer died from multiple injuries after Southern 100 crash

A 23-year-old road racer from Douglas who was killed in the Southern 100 races died from multiple injuries.

Mark Madsen-Mygdal died last Thursday, July 11th, following an incident between Stadium Corner and Castletown Corner on the Billown Circuit.

The Royal Bank of Scotland employee had been taking part in the 600cc race.

A postmortem examination found he suffered multiple injuries to his head, spine and chest.

Representatives from the Southern 100 organising team and his friends attended the opening of his inquest at Douglas Courthouse today.

Coroner of Inquests John Needham adjourned proceedings to a later date and offered his deepest condolences to the rider’s family.
