Health Minister David Anderson has outlined the details of an independent external inspection of the Island’s health service.
The West Midlands Quality Review Service will carry out the review.
It will assess the quality of care, areas for improvement and the sustainability of services on the Island.
The review is expected to start in November and it’s anticipated that it will take more than a year at a cost of at least £98,000.
The organisation will begin looking at the care of critically ill patients at Noble's Hospital as this was an area flagged up by the hospital consultants who made their concerns public.
