A new ticketing system for buses costing nearly half a million pounds could be given the go-ahead by Tynwald today.
The current system was put in place five years ago but a recent report found that a series of major mistakes were made over its purchase.
This cost more than £380,000 in September 2008 and now the Department of Community, Culture and Leisure wants another £400,000 to upgrade the system which is no longer fit for purpose.
The report in to the purchase of the Almax system was presented before Tynwald in November but never debated.
The new proposed Ticketer system will include a smart card reader so that the Island can have a system like the top-up pay-as-you-go Oyster cards in the UK.
