Economic Development Minister John Shimmin says he is confident a more solid air link to London can be established for next year's spring/summer season.
Flights to London City will be reduced over the winter months as BA CityFlyer has opted to reduce down to just one flight a day.
This news comes shortly after Flybe announced it will withdraw from its Gatwick route from next year.
Minister Shimmin says this will undoubtedly have implications for the local business community, but is hopeful following discussions with Easyjet and BA that four daily flights will still be a possibility.
