Doubt has been cast over the Isle of Man's chances of hosting another Island Games in the near future.
It comes ahead of this year's Games in Bermuda which start next weekend.
The original Games in 1985 had just a few hundred competitors but this has now grown to over three thousand including coaches.
Geoff Karran is a member of the International Island Games Association.
He believes the growing demand on infrastructure is seriously limiting where the Games can be held
